1. Who we are

PakCars (pakcars.com) is an online platform for buying and selling cars in Pakistan, available on our website and mobile app. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

  • Google Sign-In: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google account ID from Google. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Email sign-in: your email address and a password. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider in hashed form; we cannot read them.
  • Phone numbers: the phone number you enter when posting a car or sending us a message.
  • Car listings: name, city, make, model, year, price, mileage, fuel type, transmission and description you submit on the Sell page.
  • Vehicle photos: pictures you upload with a listing.
  • Messages: the name, email, phone and message you send through the Contact form or other in-app messaging, and messages you send us on WhatsApp or by phone.
  • Advertising data: for businesses that advertise with us — business name, headline, details, phone, website link and ad pictures.
  • Technical data: basic information your browser or device sends automatically, such as IP address, device type and pages visited, which our hosting providers may log.

3. How we use your information

  • To review, publish and display car listings.
  • To let buyers contact sellers or PakCars about a car.
  • To reply to your messages and support requests.
  • To sign you in and keep accounts secure.
  • To show business advertisements on the platform.
  • To prevent fraud, misuse and spam, and to comply with the law.

4. What is shown publicly

Only listings approved by our team are shown publicly. Approved listings show car details and photos. Seller phone numbers and names are not shown on the website; buyer enquiries go to PakCars. Contact form messages are never public. Active business ads show the business details and pictures the advertiser provides.

5. Advertising

PakCars shows business ads managed by our team. Our mobile app may also show ads from third-party ad networks (for example Google AdMob), which may collect device identifiers and usage data to show and measure ads under their own privacy policies. You can reset or limit ad personalisation in your device settings.

6. How we store and protect data

Data is stored with our cloud hosting and database providers. Measures currently in place include:

  • Encrypted HTTPS connections between your device and our servers.
  • Access rules so that unapproved listings, messages and private data can only be viewed by authorised PakCars admins.
  • Car and ad photos are stored privately and shown through temporary links only when the listing or ad is approved and active.
  • Uploads are limited to image files (JPG, PNG, WebP) of up to 5 MB.

No online system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with services that help us run PakCars:

  • Cloud hosting, database, file storage and authentication providers.
  • Google, when you choose Google Sign-In.
  • An AI text service used by our admins to help write ad text from details the advertiser provides.
  • WhatsApp and your phone carrier when you choose to contact us through them.
  • Ad networks in our mobile app, as described above.
  • Authorities, when required by Pakistani law.

8. Data retention

We keep listings, photos, messages and ad data while they are needed for the purposes above, or until you ask us to delete them or our team removes them. Deleted items are removed from our database and storage; copies in backups or provider logs may remain for a limited time before being overwritten.

9. Account and data deletion

You can ask us to delete your account, listings, photos or messages at any time. Contact us by WhatsApp or phone using the details below and include the email or phone number you used, so we can identify your data. We will confirm once the deletion is done.

You may also ask for a copy of your data or for corrections.

10. Children

PakCars is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page with its updated date.
